1. The HOPE Project

The HOPE (Health Opportunities Providing Employment) project has been devised with a view to providing health and employment opportunities for people who are described as NEET (Not in Employment, Education or Training).

The project seeks to provide eligible people aged 16+ years old a 13-week programme, at the end of which they will qualify as Fitness Instructors and/or Personal Trainers and be found actual employment.

The project will be delivered by OTCS in partnership with a specialist Personal Training organisation. By utilising our combined skills we will ensure that the best opportunities are available and appropriate support is provided to gain industry recognised qualifications and sustainable employment.

We have targeted the Fitness and Health Industry specifically because around 30% of the workforce in this industry is aged between 16-24 years old, as reported by the National Careers Service.

This is a particularly popular set of courses/projects and often heavily over-subscribed from the outset, demonstrating the huge demand for practical skills backed up by industry recognised qualifications.

The length, nature and level of these projects can vary, dependent on the range of skills involved and level of complexity, compliance/regulatory requirements etc.

This project has a high employment achieving success rate, predominantly with the partner organisations who have had the opportunity to observe potential employees first hand to gauge their ability, commitment and developmental potential going forward.
